My running buddy.

I run a lot with my husband.  He’s my most favorite person in the whole wide world.

However, I have a very special friend that I love to run with when my Dan isn’t available.  This person came into my life about a year and a half ago, and she makes me a better person.

I am sure that all of her other friends, and trust me there are many, would say the same thing.  She is always smiling, positive, easy going, a good listener, and man is she one quick runner.  I have a feeling that there a lot of other running gals out there that think the world of her, too.

The best thing about Susan is that she challenges me to come out of my comfort zone.  Now, my husband does that, too.  He has always pushed my buttons and he really does flat out make me angry enough to do things sometimes, because he knows that I will do it just to prove that I can.

Susan is different.  She puts thoughts into my head that tell me that I’m strong enough to rise to the task.  And, she does it in such a way, that I can’t help but smile and say…”Sure, that sounds like a great idea! Let’s do it!”

In the past few months, she’s been on the injured list.  And, sadly, we haven’t run together.  She has been so patient, I really don’t know how she has handled it.  I would have been a complete mess.

But, she is now back to hitting the pavement.  And I know what that means….I need to get into be ready.  So, here’s to another adventure! Thelma and Louise are back at it – look out.  My husband is already shaking is head (but, I also noticed that he’s smiling).

Happiness is knowing that your best running buddy is off of the injured list….let the craziness begin!

Run happy. Run long.
